Joel Connelly
I started my journey into landscaping from a very young age helping my dad building drystone walls in our family garden in Low Bradfield. I have been working in the industry for over 25 years, I studied Horticulture at Askham Bryan College in 1990’s, then worked with my brother as landscape gardeners in Sheffield. I moved to Surrey in 2001 and worked for a building & maintenance company until 2008 when I decided to go solo and start my own landscape company. I moved back to Sheffield after having our first daughter and have continued to grow JC Landscapes with my wife.
Favourite Part of Job:
I love creating quality decking, especially using Millboard decking, that not only looks great but that’s structurally sound and durable.
What inspires me:
The peacefulness of the countryside, its natural surroundings and the beautiful wildlife.

I have always had a real passion for design, I originally studied at Sussex University where I obtained a BA Hons in Art History with a strong focus on the history of garden design. I then went on to study for my diploma in Garden Design at KLC School of Design. I helped to set up JC Landscapes with my husband whilst I was studying, helping to run the business side of things. After graduating I started to build up my design portfolio, whilst also working out on site landscaping with Joel. Following the birth of our first daughter I have gone back to focusing on running the business and design work.
Favourite Part of Job:
I love working with clients to make their dream gardens a reality and achieve the most out of their outdoor space.
What inspires me:
My biggest inspiration is spring time in bloom, its full of potential and excitement for the year ahead.
